Hi and welcome to today’s 60 second snippet into the mortgage world and today’s subject discharge bankruptcies. Everyone can go through a life event that affects them financially and that shouldn’t be treated and put against you for the rest of your life. Obviously being bankrupt will have an impact on your credit but each lender will apply a certain criteria to that. Some lenders will say that they don’t want to deal with customers who have been bankrupt, some will say who haven’t been bankrupt in the last six years, some will say that if you’ve been discharged for three years then they will allow you to, subject to all the other circumstances and criteria, apply for that particular mortgage. So it doesn’t mean that you can’t approach someone who has access to these lenders that can tell you what scenario and what recommendation would suit you
