We're here for you
Whether it be buying, selling or re-mortgaging your property or another property that you own or wish to own (buy to let for example), you will need “legals” or a “property conveyancer” as they are known or to throw another name in the hat, simply “a solicitor”. The solicitor deals with the property transaction, or in the case of a re-mortgage, oversee’s the transfer of your property deed from one lender to another.
There is an exception to this rule and that’s when re-mortgaging with your existing lender. In this instance there is no legal process involved.
Mortgage lenders can have a specific panel they wish to use so its always important to speak to your mortgage adviser and ask them to check that the solicitor you wish to use are on that lender’s preferred panel. Some lenders, especially for a re-mortgage, can provide a “free legal service”. When discussing your options your adviser will always make sure you have everything you need to make the right decision for the service required.
Legal Services are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
